Nelson Mandela, Eleanor Roosevelt, Ernest Shackleton are all people who have succeed against all adds. They all admitted that what got them through tough times was the ability to focus on the positive. They understood that optimism is power.
Great leaders have an unusual ability to face up to reality, by creating a single powerful attribute: Optimism. People with great optimism tend to succeed, not only because they believe that everything will turn out right, but also because the expectation of success makes them work much harder. If you expect little, you will not be motivated even to try.
